| DC Unveils New Batman Statue in Burbank |
Batman has another personal residence. This evening, another sculpture of DC's Dim Knight was disclosed in Burbank, Calif. The work depends on DC boss inventive official Jim Lee's version of the character from the comic book storyline "Quiet."
The seven-and-a-half foot tall bronze sculpture, which weighs 600 pounds, was made by advanced stone carver Alejandro Pereira Ezcurra, and created by the city's American Expressive arts Foundry and Manufacture. DC and Visit Burbank cooperated to introduce the sculpture in its present home, the AMC Walkway of downtown Burbank.
"Quiet" ran in issues 608 through 619 of DC's essential Batman title, beginning in 2002 and finishing a year later. Composed by Jeph Loeb and delineated by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, the story was a quick hit, and has been republished in various releases and assortments in the years since; prominently, it was the primary expanded run of fine art Lee had accommodated a DC title, and prepared for resulting stretches on titles including Superman and Equity Association.
